MARKET ANALYSIS:
The S&P BSE Sensex recouped its losses and provisionally ended 0.07 per cent higher on Wednesday, led by gains in Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's, Wipro and Hindalco.
The 50-share Nifty index closed at 5,742, down 13.05 points or 0.23 per cent. It touched a high of 5,752.10 and a low of 5,675.75 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was at 19,361.15, up 12.81 points or 0.07 per cent. It touched a high of 19,387.50 and a low of 19,126.82 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index closed 0.69 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index ended 0.74 per cent lower.
NTPC (5.3 per cent), HDFC Bank (2.5 per cent), ICICI Bank (1.8 per cent), HUL (1.9 per cent) and ITC (2.5 per cent) were among the major Sensex losers.
Bharti Airtel (7.3 per cent), Hindalco (4.4 per cent), DRL (4.7 per cent), Wipro (4.1 per cent) and BHEL (3.6 per cent) were among the index gainers.
